They make it possible to represent almost any data model and to ask questions later about the data that were not anticipated when the schema was first designed. And they are getting better every day. PostgreSQL’s new JSON functionality enables the storage of dynamically structured data, which is something that was previously the specialty of NoSQL databases. It is sometimes tempting to use relational databases as message queue systems too. But, I do not recommend this and here is why.
