(Fortunately, people have posted a lot of recipes that are working well for them in various environments—thanks for those contributions!) We wanted to offer something better in our Python client to automatically renew certs that are near expiry (for people who got their certs using that client). We've decided on a new approach called letsencrypt renew , which does a better job of remembering the settings you chose when obtaining a cert, and of reporting the results of renewal cleanly.
