I'm gonna run through how we torture OlegDB with it to make sure everything is working in an acceptable fashion. Building and installing wrk is outside the scope of this article, but it's not hard. You just need to do your standard make && make install dance and you'll do fine. Once you have your wrk executable handy, we can get started. I also promised that I would go over in more detail why we switched and what the benefit was, even if our lines added/removed was about the same. The first thing I would like to clarify is that OlegDB is not primarily written in Go, nor was it primarily written in Erlang. OlegDB is, and will always be, a giant C hairball.
